The Usual Suspects
Summary-
A
sole survivor tells of the events leading up to a horrific gun battle on a
boat, which begin when five criminals meet at a seemingly random police lineup.
Why-
Macbeth, like the survivor, is an unreliable main character. Both of them are not what they appear. In the beginning, Kint seems very timid and innocent. By the end of the movie, it is revealed to the audience that he is ruthless, much like Macbeth.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Summary-
Ferris convinces his entire school that he's dying, then hits the streets of Chicago with his girlfriend and best friend for a day of fun.
Why-
This movie is an encouraging tale that you can get away with lying and deception without any consequences whatsoever. Even though Macbeth's treachery was on a much larger scale, the moral of the story is still comforting.
Parks and Recreation
Summary-
Leslie Knope, an employee with a rural Parks and Recreation
department, is full of energy and good ideas but bogged down by bureaucracy.
Why-
Macbeth can easily relate to Knope. He is a thane-turned-king in Scotland who is full of ambition and motive but bogged down by pesky morals and hesitation. But not for long...

cracked up to be.

OUt of the shows/movies you've chosen, I have only seen 13 Going on 30. I have seen that movie a million times, so I understand how you connected it. It also has a simple plot line which can easily be connected back to Macbeth. However, I am not familiar with the rest of the shows/movies, so I feel like you could have expanded more on them by presenting more connections. You're on the right track, though!
